How we report

The Full Scope publishes short, sourced news updates from Dublin City: the council chamber, Leinster House, housing, transport and the communities in between.

• Go where the story isWe follow decisions, meetings and events to where they happen, not just where they are announced.
• Ask the people involvedWe put questions to the councillors, officials, residents and workers affected, and quote them accurately and briefly.
• Show the full pictureWe give the context, say what we do not know, and credit every outlet we draw on.

Our standards

• Every update is written in our own words. Direct quotes are short and credited to the person who said them.
• Every update has a Sources box that credits and links the original reporting.
• A person on our team reads and approves every update before it is published. Nothing goes live automatically.
• We use our own images, or our branded card. We do not reuse other outlets’ pictures.
• When we get something wrong we say so, on the update and in our corrections log.
